ABOUT
Calgary born, Toronto based artist CEE started her journey as an artist at a young age. Coming from a long lineage of musicians, dancers and entertainers, CEE came by her life as an artist honestly and organically.
She got her start in performance and entertainment through dance which eventually led her to a career as a professional dance artist under the pseudonym ‘Lady C’ which she built a worldwide successful reputation.
Simultaneously honing her craft as a singer/songwriter and recording artist, she also began to release music under the same pseudonym. Through the dance community, she began to meet and collaborate with other dance/music artists, thus creating a synergetic relationship between these two realms.
One of these collaborators was Bay Area music producer Cody ‘Coflo’ Ferreira.
The two released multiple successful projects on labels such as Atjazz, Ocha, Fatsouls and Coflo’s own - Catch The Ghost Records.
Now donning her new artist identity, CEE has teamed up once again with Coflo on her first full length solo project SLP.
SLP which stands for ‘Sex, Love, Power’ is more commonly known as a digital currency used in the Metaverse called ‘Smooth Love Potion’.

Sex, Love and Power are the 3 most basic things that make the world go round. They are at the root of almost all decisions we make at our most primal human level, and at the root of every song on this album.
​
Smooth Love Potion is a nod to the idea of ‘virtual value’, a construct of whatever we choose to believe holds worth. To hear a record is an experience, it is not something we can really ‘own’ so beyond the ticket price, it’s value is entirely in the hands of the listener.
​
We are moving into an age of virtual existence from the expansion into the Metaverse, to AI & NFTs, to the digital music industry where holding a physical record in your hands and hearing it crackle on the record player is becoming much more of a rare luxury…
hence the album’s vinyl release!

SLP has notes of sounds from the past, but with a heavy lean into digital production.
It’s multi-genre approach ranges from funky dance floor burners to slow and sensual heart wrenchers to some feel good inspiring messages that will leave you with a well rounded emotional journey by the end.
